I Checkmate sono una band rock alternativo con un’intensa esperienza live su palchi nazionali e internazionali. Inizialmente ispirata al rock degli anni ’80, la band ha modificato il proprio sound per incorporare una gamma diversificata di influenze moderne, creando un suono davvero unico e dinamico, ad alta energia e carico di emozioni. Ogni componente condivide il proprio background musicale e la propria creatività, e l’essenza del sound dei Checkmate è una miscela ben miscelata di queste influenze.

Checkmate is an alternative rock band with an intense live experience on both national and international stages. Initially inspired by 80’s rock, the band has evolved its sound to incorporate a diverse range of modern influences, creating a truly unique and dynamic sound that is high-energy and emotionally charged. With each member bringing their own individual musical background and creativity, the essence of Checkmate’s sound is a well-mixed blend of these influences.
Bea Gentile // Voce
Dall’ascolto della musica psichedelica, rock anni 60/70 e altri generi al comporre musica propria è un attimo! Sin dalle prime influenze ha sempre seguito l’istinto musicale e canoro fino a farlo diventare parte integrante di sè. Dopo il primo progetto inedito a 15 anni e le prime esperienze di cover band, adesso si fa sul serio. Pronta a rimettersi in gioco, in discussione, a sperimentare e scoprire nuove sonorità.
Bea Gentile // Vocals
From psychedelic music and 60/70s rock and other different genres to your own music in a snap. She has always followed her musical and singing instincts from the earliest influences until they became an integral part of her. After the first original project and the first experience of cover bands, now it’s time to get back into the game, experiment, and discover new sounds.
Simona Parisi // Chitarra e voce
La musica é stata fin da subito parte di lei grazie anche ai suoi genitori. In seguito ad una metal-adolescenza vissuta nel ruolo di cantante e chitarrista con diverse cover band, fonda a 15 anni il suo primo progetto inedito che le regala una forte crescita musicale e personale, fino a fondare Checkmate nel 2011 come nuovo progetto di brani originali.
Nella band è compositrice, chitarrista e corista.
Simona Parisi // Guitar and vocals
Music has always been a big part of her life also thanks to her parents. After a metal-adolescence when she first joined several cover bands as a singer and guitarist, she founded her first original band which gave her a strong musical and personal growth, until Checkmate is founded in 2011 as her new original song based project. She’s the songwriter, guitarist and backing vocalist of the band.
Marina Borlini // Chitarra
Chitarra in braccio fin dall’infanzia, formazione di stampo classico che si affianca progressivamente al mondo rock grazie all’esperienza in diverse band. Dal 2011 entra a far parte del progetto Checkmate con il quale rimarrà fino al 2016.
Nel 2021, in seguito ad un radicale cambio di line-up, rientra nel gruppo in veste di compositrice e chitarrista.
Marina Borlini // Guitar
Guitar on since childhood with classical studies moving gradually towards rock music thanks to the experience with many different bands. She joined Checkmate in 2011 until 2016. After a radical line-up change, she joined the project again as a guitar player and songwriter.
Simo D’Alpaos // Batteria
Si comincia a 10 anni a scegliere le prime sonorità. Aqua, Iron Maiden e poi è arrivato tutto il resto. Arrivano i Queen, i Nirvana, ci si innamora di P!nk e si arriva a Marilyn Manson. A 18 scatta la scintilla, si comincia a pestare sulle pelli con i Nirvana. Dopo una pausa di 3 anni, nel Dicembre del 2015 finalmente si ricomincia. Pezzi nuovi, nuova carica e un marchio addosso. Inizia l’avventura con le Checkmate.
Simo D’Alpaos // Drums
She’s 10 when she starts showing an attitude towards music. Aqua, Iron Maiden, and then all the others came. The Queen came, Nirvana, she fell in love with P!nk and then she gets to Marilyn Manson. At the age of 18 she starts hitting the drums with Nirvana. After a 3 year break, in December 2015 she finally starts over. New songs, new energy and one brand. The adventure with Checkmate starts.
Matteo Cogo // Basso
Più di vent’anni di scorribande musicali tra Italia ed Europa. Bassista eclettico, ha lavorato con produttori del calibro di Max Casacci e Alessio Camagni. Amore infinito per il proprio strumento, ha all’attivo più di mille date, numerose sessioni in studio con progetti propri e come turnista. Attualmente suona nei progetti Checkmate e La Colpa.
Matteo Cogo // Bass
More than twenty years of musical incursions between Italy and Europe. Eclectic bassist, he has worked with producers such as Max Casacci and Alessio Camagni. Infinite love for his instrument, he has to his credit more than a thousand dates, numerous studio sessions with his projects and as a session man. He currently plays in the projects Checkmate and La Colpa.
